Dané Estes (b. 1988, New Hampshire) is an American contemporary artist whose work explores the tension between materiality, memory, and transformation. His large-scale, richly textured canvases emerge through a process of layering, erasure, and reconstruction — each one a meditation on presence and impermanence.

Having grown up working construction, Estes developed an early reverence for raw materials — their weight, resistance, and quiet endurance. This physical understanding informs his approach, where he works directly with his hands, shaping surfaces that feel both rugged and intimate. Through gestural waves and elemental textures, he forges an unspoken connection between body and medium, instinct and intention. Estes work transcends traditional boundaries, dissolving language and cultural constructs in favor of a universally resonant emotional depth.
